Story Uploads are designated for you to share your proposed content like Instagram stories or Instagram Carousel feed posts for the brand to review before posting.
The Story Upload count indicates how many Stories the brand wants to review and the minimum number of required pieces is specified for each Story Upload.
Example: If there are 2 Story Uploads with a 3 Frame minimum, you will upload 2 sets of 3 frame Stories.
In the platform, you will upload multiple files and be able to reorder frames within the Story Upload set. Images are limited to 30MB (jpeg, png, gif) and videos are limited to 3GB (supported video types) in file size.
If a brand has any feedback on your content, learn how to submit revisions for Story Uploads.
For our creators that made the switch or re-linked on Popular Pays to Instagram Business, you are now able to view the status of an Instagram Stories post. Your status will go from Awaiting (no published content yet) to In Progress (we’ve caught some of your story posts, but not every piece of content), to Complete (we’ve seen all of your story posts for the gig).
In order to pull in your story's stats, you need to include the appropriate hashtag or @mention in every story's tap as required in the brief. This hashtag or mention does not need to be front and center in each piece of content, you can get creative by changing the color of the font to blend in the background, hiding it behind an emoji, or making it too small to recognize. One notable caveat is that the multicolored hashtag sticker will not pull in your story's statistics, so be sure to use the typed and underlined #hashtag or @mention in all story posts as shown in the video below. After your content was approved by the brand, be sure to recreate the story post on Instagram so the #hashtag and/or @mention are clickable for viewers and trackable for us.
Otherwise, it will be business as usual when it comes to uploading your stories' content. Here are some best practices to keep in mind when it comes to stories:
-
- Drop each deliverable (or tap) into the Mixed Media tab, arrange the content in the order it will appear, and use the text field to describe each piece of content as necessary.
-
- When a brand requests an edit on one of these story taps, you can simply delete the existing piece of content and upload the new one in its place. If the brand is just looking for a caption edit, no need to replace the content. You can simply update the caption with the edits requested and you’re good to go.
-
- Be sure to include any graphics or text overlay in your mixed media story uploads the first time around to give the brand a clear understanding of what exactly your final content will look like.
- Utilize the text field to provide any additional information about the post including captions or graphics and text overlay.
The main takeaway for creating effective story content is to keep it simple, direct, and to the point. Stories happen fast, so make sure your content is eye-catching yet easily digestible.
